Installation Steps

Step 1: The Whirlpool appliance is disconnected from the electrical outlet.

Step 2: The grill-vent that requires replacement is identified. In a bottom freezer refrigerator, the vent is typically positioned close to the upper edge of the freezer door. In a side-by-side refrigerator, it is generally found near the top of the refrigerator door.

Step 3: The screws securing the panel are taken out. A screwdriver is utilized to extract the screws that hold the panel in position. Two or three screws that must be taken out should be found.

Step 4: The panel is elevated off the refrigerator and placed aside.

Step 5: The wiring harness is detached from the existing Grill-Vent. The wiring harness is removed by sliding it off the four pins attached to the Grill-Vent.

Step 6: The old Grill-Vent is gently extracted from the mounting panel.

Step 7: The new Whirlpool Grill-Vent is taken and positioned onto the mounting panel.

Step 8: The Grill-Vent is fastened using the screws that were removed earlier. It is ensured that they are tightened firmly.

Step 9: The wiring harness is reattached to the four pins on the new Grill-Vent.

Step 10: The panel is reinstalled onto the refrigerator and secured with the screws.

Step 11: The appliance is reconnected to the electrical outlet.
