Installation Steps

Step 1: Your GE dryer should be disconnected from the electrical outlet and the power supply should be turned off.

Step 2: The cabinet should be taken off by unscrewing the fasteners located at the rear of the unit.

Step 3: The control timer should be located on the backside of the top panel.

Step 4: All wiring harnesses linked to the control timer should be detached.

Step 5: The control timer should be extracted from the top panel by loosening the screws.

Step 6: The plastic shaft should be examined for any signs of wear or damage. Should there be any damage, it should be substituted with a new one.

Step 7: The steps outlined above should be followed in reverse order to install the new control timer along with the plastic shaft. All connections should be ensured tight and secure prior to replacing the cabinet.

Step 8: Your dryer should be reconnected to the power outlet and the power supply should be activated. Your GE dryer featuring the new WE04X20416 control timer with plastic shaft should now be functioning properly.
